Required Items
For the writing classes, you will need to bring pens/pencils/highliters, a method of creating digital work, be it laptop or tablet, as long as you have a method of writing and saving your files for transfer and sharing.
Clothing
This is eastern Canada, on the Atlantic Coast. While summer temperatures are hot, we do experience a daily east wind that blows in from the Bay of Chaleur. It usually arrives about 4pm, and while it is sometimes not even noticeable, there are days when it can ruin your outing if you are not properly prepared. In order to facilitate your pleasure in your visit to the region, we recommend the following as items necessary to your comfort:
a hooded jacket (wind breaker is fine), sturdy walking shoes/boots, raincoat, (umbrellas don't work very well in east winds), pants, shorts, bathing suits and footwear designed to walk in water as some of our beaches can be rocky underfoot. Unprotected soles will curtail your desire to explore.
Evenings can become very cool on the water, we strongly suggest warm sweaters for those excursions.
Most events will take place rain or shine, so please be prepared. The itinerary for the program is fairly tight, and should you forget something in your packing, there is limited opportunity for shopping.

Every writer knows that there are days when the words flow, and other days when they have to be pulled kicking and screaming from the recesses of our imaginations. There are tips and techniques to help us achieve that center where we are at our most creative.
As part of your package for this Immersion Workshop, every day begins with a new technique. Explore them all and see which works best for you.
Experiential Evenings
Your day doesn't end at 5pm!
Take a break and visit any of the wonderful restaurants in the area, or request a special event such as Clam or Lobster Boil.
Return to Stewart House at 7pm (or meet in designated location) for an evening get together that includes a sunset cruise, or beach bonfire, music by the water or something as simple as enjoying a movie under the stars.
